Aquatic Sciences
Our fisheries, watershed, and wetland specialists and water chemists provide public resource agencies and businesses with technical expertise in environmental permitting and compliance, freshwater and marine ecology, fisheries biology, surface water quality, watershed management, and wetlands assessment.
We conduct baseline studies, evaluate sources of stress in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, and assess the possible impacts of land development projects on federally listed or sensitive species. We have extensive experience managing and implementing aquatic research and regulatory compliance projects around the world. We are recognized for our expertise in salmonid recovery efforts by developing restoration strategies that help improve survival and/or habitat conditions. Our staff are proficient with regulatory requirements throughout North America and in the European Union and regularly provide expert testimony on projects addressing threats and injuries to aquatic resources.
ENVIRON's EcoTox Laboratory specializes in the biological testing and evaluation of industrial and municipal water and wastewater, as well as analysis of the potential impacts of constituents on aquatic habitats and sensitive species. The laboratory is certified throughout the U.S. in lethal and sub-lethal aquatic and terrestrial toxicity bioassays, toxicity identification evaluations, toxicity reduction evaluations, and design and implementation of innovative and specialized bioassay procedures for resolving specific contaminant issues.
