José Fernandez, PE
José Fernandez is a Principal and President of ENVIRON’s Europe and Africa division. He has more than 25 years of experience in environmental engineering, with special emphasis on site solutions, due diligence assessment and regulatory Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance auditing. José has designed alternatives for the remediation and redevelopment of industrial sites contaminated with chlorinated solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons and heavy metals. He has provided litigation support and acted as an expert witness on a range of matters related to the allocation of remediation costs and EHS upgrades and capital expenditures to various stakeholders. He has negotiated the terms and conditions of the remediation of large industrial platforms with environmental agencies in the US, the UK, France, Switzerland and Brazil. He holds an MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of Southern California, and a BSE in Engineering from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines d’Ales in France. He also holds a professional engineering license (California).
